1:st & 2:nd day @ Oahu, Hawaii

ALOHA HAWAII

So yeah, I did a little detour to Hawaii for a week, why not?

6.30 pm I sat foot on Hawaiian ground, and quickly met up with my skydiving friends from Elsinore. My coaches, Peter & Petter, Peters girlfriend Jenny & Piotr. Peter, Petter & Piotr is all called Peter here because they don´t have the energy to explain their real names to the locals here, it´s hilarious!
They picked me up in a rental car that we got next to the airport and I must say it was an ok car, look and see for yourselves.

The following hours we just drove around everywhere on the island trying to find a place to stay. We went across a couple of hostels who looked like a joke, founds some camping places for our newly purchased tent but they actually were no good. We drove around for hours and found nothing. An actuall idea was to park the car in a steep hill and just sleep in the car, just where we were sitting ;-) We were so tired so that could easy be an option.

But finally we drove out to a place called Turtle Bay and the big hotel resort there. When we pulled up it looked like it would cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars per night but it was an ok price. And I must say, all the driving around payed off. The place was great. Really big and beautiful. We got a room with a balcony with a ocean view. Great restaurants, internet and good security. We decided to stay one night, and in the morning we could get organized. Everyone was to tired to argue so we took it. Look it.

The view from the room

Our messy vacation room

Sweet breakfast buffé for 130 dollars total ;-) Oh yes, we ate...

The next day our mission was this. Find the dropzone, get a good and cheap place to stay and then explore the island some more. Mission one complete, we found the dropzone. The only dropzone we´ve seen that had two different Skydive companies on the same field. Skydive Hawaii & Pacific Skydive.
We checked them both out and we chose Pacific Skydive. I would not recommend Skydive Hawaii to anyone who wants to skydive, not even tandem. It was a money making factory, thats it. No feeling or love for the sport what so ever, and that´s not skydiving spirit! Pacific on the other hand gets a gold star!
We didn´t jump today because of the winds but we´ll come back tomorrow

Next mission, find a place to stay. Our driving around continued. We stopped by a guy who shootes alot of pictures and videos for movies that involves skydiving. Tom Sanders! This man and his wife runs a glider company in Hawaii called Paradise Air. This man is a legend in the sports, his resume goes on like forever. Click the link and read about Tom Sanders, you´ll be impressed, even more impressed if you are a skydiver

And then we finally found a place to stay. A apartment house with a kitchen in a place called Sharks Cove. The owner was great and the location even better so we took it. Beautiful view and close to everything.
So we checked in, got settled and ended the day with a real Hawaiian sunset at the beach!

Swwweeeeeeeeet !! IRIE LIFE !!
